In the Washington County phone book, there are 1303 phone numbers listed under the last name of Smith.
My family is only one of those numbers.

On April 1st, 2000 Oregon's census reported 3,421,399 people in the state, with 445,342 in Washington County.
At 2.5 people per phone number, that assumes 0.73%, or 1 one out of every 136 people in Washington County Oregon is a Smith.

Is that too many?
